These terms govern use of IPFerret, the website at ipferret.com and its JSON API, which are run by Liquid Monks. By using the site you agree to them. How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
The free web UI and JSON API are provided for informational use. Do not use the API for high-volume scraping, attempts to evade abuse controls, or any activity that violates applicable law. We may rate-limit, deny, or block requests we believe to be abusive.
No warranty
IPFerret is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that geolocation, ASN, or privacy-signal data is accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Liquid Monks and IPFerret's contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of use of the site or API.
Where the data comes from
Results come from public sources such as DNS, the Regional Internet Registries, certificate transparency logs, public blocklists and commercial geolocation data, plus live checks our server makes. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and IP location is always an estimate. Don't rely on IPFerret alone for decisions that matter.
Checking other people's systems
Tools such as the port checker, TLS checker and traceroute make our server contact the host you enter. Only use them on systems you own or are allowed to test, and not to probe, flood or attack anyone.
Changes
We may revise these terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above changes when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
